Letters to the Editor
DMK leader M. Karunanidhi's remark that the involvement of some influential people in the issue may help his party nurture an anti-Brahmin movement in Tamil Nadu again (which he claims he made in jest) comes as a surprise because the Brahmin community is in no way connected with the controversy. One wonders for how long he will continue to play the caste card for securing votes.
S. Jayachandran,
Instead of putting an end to the controversy, the DMK chief has given a new twist to it. Mr. Karunanidhi should appreciate that there are at least some issues that need to be viewed in the larger interest of society and not in terms of electoral gains.
K. Raju,
It is unfortunate that a senior leader of the UPA and coordinator of the DPA has no other worthwhile issue to take up.
K.R.A. Narasiah,
