Hyundai enters U.K. market with `Amica'

NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India (HMI) on Tuesday announced its foray into the U.K. market with its first shipment of 820 cars. The company said in a statement it would export the `Santro Xing,' branded Hyundai `Amica' in the U.K. market. This consignment will be the first export of right hand drive (RHD) cars to the European Union (EU), it added. "Though this is HMI's first consignment to the U.K., our cars are already popular in other parts of the EU. In fact, Europe accounts for almost half of HMI's total exports,'' HMI President,

B. V. R. Subbu, said. HMI has already exported left hand drive cars to EU countries like Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Spain.
