KOCHI: The Naval hospital in Kochi, INS Sanjivani, organised a two-day medical camp in the Lakshadweep islands on November 26 and 27 as part of the Navy Week celebrations at the Southern Naval Command. The camps were held at the Androth island on November 26 and at Kadmatt island on 27. The medical team comprised specialists in the field of medicine, surgery, eye, ENT, paediatrics, dermatology, gynaecology and dental. Two lady doctors were also part of the team. The medical team offered free consultation and medicines. The administration provided necessary facilities to conduct the camp at Androth. Commodore M.S. Pavithran, Naval officer-in charge (Kerala and Lakshadweep) inaugurated the camp. As many as 2,317 patients benefited from the camp. Those with multiple medical problems were attended by various specialists. Random blood sugar test was performed for 71 patients and 25 ECGs, 40 USGs and 25 x-rays taken. The naval gynaecologist managed a complicated labour case. At Kadmatt, 1,948 persons received medical attention.
