Road safety message

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: As part of the Road Safety Campaign initiated by the Chennai City Traffic Police, traffic police have been pasting stickers of their second message in the series, on vehicles at various junctions around the city.

The message promotes use of helmets.

While the vehicles wait for the green signal, traffic cops paste these stickers on two-wheelers and four wheelers. Stickers of two types have been designed for two wheelers and other vehicles, in which labels might have to be stuck from the inside.

"Around 40,000 stickers have been printed. We carried the first message on hoardings and posters. Sometimes, people on the road may not pay attention to hoardings."

``So this time, in addition to hoardings and posters, we brought in stickers, which would remain on vehicles for a while," said K.C.Mahali, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

The road safety message for December, the third in the series, is expected to be out shortly.
