World AIDS Day tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: SOMA, an NGO working with the Kerala AIDS Control Society, will organise various awareness programmes on HIV prevention in connection with the World AIDS Day on December 1.

An exhibition focussing on HIV awareness was organised at Manacaud Girls' High School on Tuesday. The same will be displayed at Mar Ivanios College on November 30. A cultural rally will be organised on Thursday.

As many as 100 persons will take part in the AIDS walk on the day. Candles will be lit at Gandhi Park grounds to express solidarity with HIV-infected persons.

Painting, poetry and short story writing competitions will also be organised among prison inmates from December 5 as part of the AIDS Day observance.
