B.G. Kulkarni is dead

Bangalore: B.G. Kulkarni (84), former Director of Information and Tourism, passed away here on Friday.

He is survived by wife, four sons and three daughters.

Baburao Govindrao Kulkarni began his career as a journalist in Samyukta Karnataka in 1942 working under the well-known journalist Mohare Hanumantha Rao.

He later joined government service and rose to become the director of the department.

Mr. Kulkarni was also the founder-president of the Varaprada Venkateshwara Temple Construction Committee and involved himself in development work in his native village Parishwad in Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district.
