Appointed Chief Justice

CHENNAI:
The seniormost Tamil Nadu judge, Justice N. Dhinakar, was on Wednesday appointed Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court . A copy of the notification was received by the Madras High Court Registry in the evening.
Appointed Additional Judge of the Madras High Court in October 1994, Mr. Justice Dhinakar is to be sworn in Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court on Sunday. An official farewell is to be held here on Friday.
With his elevation, there will be a change in the composition of the Madras High Court Collegium of Judges.
Besides Chief Justice A.P. Shah, the Collegium now comprises Justice M. Karpagavinayagam and Justice P.Sathasivam. Justice Venkatachalamoorthy was the last judge from Tamil Nadu to head a high court in another state. He retired on January 8, 2005.
