MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena is making efforts to placate Raj Thackeray who resigned from his posts in the party last Sunday. Several MLAs led by Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam met Raj at his residence on Wednesday morning. Mr. Kadam said he would meet Raj again on Thursday evening. On Tuesday, the MLAs met at the residence of Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray before going to the house of Raj. However, he was not at home. `Matoshree' saw hectic activity on Wednesday with several Sena corporators, party workers and members of its women's wing gathering outside to meet party working president Uddhav Thackeray and to express their solidarity with him. Uddhav has been saying that the door was open to Raj for talks. Uddhav told reporters that if Raj did not want to meet him, he should at least come and meet his father. In fact, he was asked to come and meet the senior Thackeray last Sunday but he did not do so. He said the Sena was functioning normally and had started an agitation on Tuesday for an increase in the remunerative prices for sugarcane.
