Karnataka bags two points

Chandigarh : Karnataka defeated Maharashtra by virtue of their first-innings lead of 156 runs on the third and final day of the Cooch-Behar Cricket Trophy match at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.

Karnataka gained two points from this drawn encounter while Maharashtra failed to obtain a point.

At the draw of stumps Maharashtra scored 175 for seven in 78 overs in its second innings.

Karnataka will next meet Haryana in Chandigarh while Maharashtra faces Punjab in Patiala from December 3 to 5.

The scores: Maharashtra 179 and 175 for seven (Harshad Khadiwala 61, Sunil N Raju four for 70) vs Karnataka 335 for six decl (Sunil Kumar Jain 129, V Cheluvaraj 40, Amit Verma 87). — UNI
