BANGALORE: The body of a 35-year-old cloth merchant of Ullal, who had gone missing since Monday morning, was found near Jnanabharati and Mutturaya Road junction on Tuesday morning. According to police, Kempegowda, a native of Channapatna, had recently relocated his shop from Sunkadakatte to Ullal. He was staying in a house near the shop. On Monday, he went to J.P. Nagar to meet his friend and he did not return home in the evening. Concerned family members lodged a complaint with the police. It was on Tuesday morning that a few persons on a morning walk found a body, which was found to be that of Kempegowda. The police have found the body with injuries on head and shoulders. The police said the injuries may have been caused either by an assault or by a motor vehicle accident. The police have sent the body for autopsy.
Killed in accident
Narasimha, 27, of Kengute was killed after he was hit by a lorry near Ambedkar College in Byatarayanapura Traffic Police Station limits on Monday evening. The police said the incident occurred when Narasimha was walking across the road.
Industrialist robbed
Four persons waylaid Sunil G. Jain, an industrialist, and his wife, and robbed them of their gold chains, cash and some readymade garments near T.G. Petrol Bunk in MICO Layout police station limits on Monday evening. According to police, Jain and his wife were going on a motorcycle to a branch of a retail chain on Bannerghatta Road to buy readymade garments for Jain's brother's marriage. When they were returning home at Devarachikkanahalli, they were waylaid by miscreants standing near the petrol bunk. The miscreants threatened them and took away two gold chains, Rs. 1,600 cash and readymade garments.
Bomb hoax
Panic gripped the office of a garment factory in Subbaiah Circle in Sampangiramnagar police station limits on Tuesday morning when the office received an anonymous call about placing of a bomb in the premises. According to police, Gokaldas Garments factory's office got the call around 8.30 a.m..
