NEW DELHI: "A course in minimum access surgery and compulsory one-year rural assignment should be introduced for young doctors, which will go a long way in ensuring that the medical fraternity is able to take care of its rural patient load and keep up with medical advancements across the world," said Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Anbumani Ramadoss after inaugurating `The Art Of Surgery-OT Skills Centre' at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here on Wednesday. Maintaining that Indian doctors were the best in the world in terms of skill and technical know-how, he said, "Indian doctors are working in top medical and research facilities in the world and with medical tourism improving in its scope and quality, not just patients but also Indian doctors staying abroad are now returning to India." It is essential that we stay ahead in our area of the work," said Dr. Ramadoss.
