BCCI matters

The editorial "A liberating change at the helm" (Dec. 1) has delineated issues before Sharad Pawar who has been elected BCCI chief. Though Mr. Pawar has uncanny tact and proven abilities, will he be able to shoulder the new responsibility, given that he is a Union Minister and NCP president? Here is wishing him all the best.

The BCCI has a full time politician — a Cabinet Minister — with a lot of experience in power game, at the helm. One wonders how a Minister with a lot of engagements can find time to devote to the cause of cricket.
