French film to use stunt sequence from "Muthu"

Staff Reporter

"We were very happy to give it as we wanted Super Star Rajnikant to go all over the world"

CHENNAI: Super Star Rajnikant is all set to appear in a French movie. Though the appearance will be brief.

The film "Rent a Wife" is slated for release in 2006. This news was disclosed at the International Film Festival of India, (IFFI), Panjim, Goa, by Etienne Dubaille, an official of French Film company, Chabat Chezwam.

French filmmaker Alain Chabat wanted a small filler for a fight sequence in his comedy film "Rent A Wife".

His eyes fell on a martial arts sequence in Rajnikant's Tamil film "Muthu" and he decided to use it. The 1998 film "Muthu" travelled to Japan where it turned into a big success and the Tamil superstar became a household name in the island nation.

On behalf of Muthu's producer, Pushpa Kandasamy said the French company had got permission to use the sequence. "When they wanted a ten-second Kung-fu clip of Rajnikant we were very happy to give it as we wanted Super Star Rajnikant to go all over the world".
