THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati won the team titles in badminton and table tennis respectively in the 23rd all-India RBI sports meet here on Friday. Thiruvananthapuram blanked Kolkata 2-0 to win the title in Badmonton while Guwahati edged out Kolkatta 3-2 in the table tennis final. Bangalore and Mumbai took the men's and women's carrom titles. Bangalore defeated Nagpur 2-1 in men's final while Mumbai defeated Bangalore to lift the women's title. The results: Badminton (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Kolkata 2-0 (K. Madhu bt Supriyao Banerjee 15-8, 15-5; K. Madhu & Rakesh Sekhar bt Sanjoy Das & Supriyo Banerjee 15-11, 15-5). Carrom: Men (final): Bangalore bt Nagpur 2-1 (H.K. Umesh bt Anil Rambhad 25-4, 24-25, 25-18; G. Shiva bt Harish Hedao 25-0, 25-6; Mohan G. Mensi lost to Abdul Sagir 22-25, 0-25). Women (final): Mumbai bt Bangalore 2-1 (Sangeetha Chandorkar bt Kavitha Somanchi 21-25, 25-14, 25-15; Shubhada Nagaokar bt V.Latha 25-22, 24-22, 25-24; Shyamala Karanjkar lost Malathi Ramesh 25-5 18-25, 8-25). Table Tennis (final): Guwahati bt Kolkatta 3-2. Football (league): Bhopal bt Chandigarh 4-0; Bangalore bt Kanpur 2-1; Kolkata bt Bhuvaneswar 2-0; Mumbai bt Guwahati 3-1; New Delhi bt Chennai 4-2; Lucknow bt Nagpur 4-0; Ahmedabad bt Thiruvananthapuram 2-1.
