Barn Owl rescued by residents

TAMBARAM: Residents of Ranganathapuram, West Tambaram, rescued a Barn Owl that had strayed into their locality and handed it over to personnel of the Forest Department. The owl, was trapped and unable to move about, the residents said.

M.S. Ramadhas, Forest Range Officer, Tambaram, said the bird would be handed over either to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, or the Guindy National Park. The bird was listed as an endangered species and was found in the forests of India.
