Apollo Hospitals to partner with Johns Hopkins

NEW DELHI: The Apollo Hospitals Group has entered into an agreement with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, U.S., for collaboration in areas including continuing medical education programmes, partnership with clinical departments, nurse education, telemedicine and second opinion services.

Marking the beginning of a new era by bringing to the country international standards of healthcare expertise and technology on a single platform from where accessibility and affordability becomes easier for people residing in Asia and West Asia, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, Prathap C. Reddy, and CEO, John Hopkins Medicine International, Steve Thomson, announced this joint venture here on Friday.

The ten-year collaboration contract, according to Dr. Reddy, will enable the two organisations to work together to create global excellence models in healthcare.

The Apollo Hospitals Group also signed a joint venture with Amcare Labs International, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins International, to set up a referral high-end lab in Hyderabad, which will process samples collected from all over the country.

This alliance aims to enhance the quality of care in this part of the world. The collaboration is committed to bring together the combined expertise of the two organisations in the delivery of the best practices in healthcare in India and also the neighbouring regions. As India is emerging as a healthcare destination, the collaboration will add value to our work," said the Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, Preetha Reddy.
