Mumbai: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) runs the risk of being debarred as a venue to hold international cricket matches in the event of it not agreeing to stage the India-Sri Lanka Test match from December 18 to 22. At the BCCI's AGM in Kolkata last Tuesday, UPCA had informed the house that it is in no position to stage the third Test against Sri Lanka scheduled from December 18 to 22. "I think UPCA's status as a Test match centre should stand suspended until it acquires its own property and develops it for cricket matches,'' said Shashank Manohar, BCCI Vice-President and Chairman of the Tour Programme & Fixtures Committee. According to Mr. Manohar, it will be the turn of Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) to stage the Test match by the principle of rotation, should the UPCA express its helplessness. PTI adds However the UPCA Director Jyoti Bajpai said that the UPCA was keen to host the Test if it gets the Green Park ground in time for preparation. ``The international referee who had visited the Green Park was not satisfied with the outfield of the ground. We are still ready to host the Test if given the ground in time,'' Bajpai said on Saturday.
