KHAMMAM: A Class V student of the Dammapet Ashram School died of snakebite on Friday. According to reports, S. Mutteswar Rao, complained of itching sensation on his foot after returning from bathroom around 3.30 a.m. The hostel authorities took him to the local health worker for first aid and later shifted him to the Government Hospital at Sathupalli in the morning. But he succumbed before the doctors could attend on him. The boy belonged to Nagulagudem village in Veleru mandal . ITDA project officer Suresh Kumar ordered a probe into the incident. He also placed hostel warden K. Lalaiah under suspension pending final enquiry.
