Thiruvananthapuram: The passing out parade of 90 cadets of the Sainik School, Kazhakkoottam, was held at the school parade ground on Saturday morning. Air Marshal S.Y. Savur, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, who was the chief guest on the occasion, took the salute and reviewed the parade. School cadet captain C. Vishnu led the parade. The Air Marshal, while addressing the gathering, called upon the cadets to prepare themselves to take on bigger challenges in life. He urged the cadets to join the National Defence Academy and to pursue a career in defence service. He also distributed trophies and medals to outstanding cadets. The trophy for the Best Overall Performance was awarded to school captain Cadet C. Vishnu; Cadet S. Girish won the Best Sportsman of the year trophy; the trophies for exemplary behaviour and Best Promising Cadet were won by the school vice captains A.G. Ashish and Neeraj Babu.
