Guntur to host Kho-Kho championship

GUNTUR: The State-level Kho-Kho Championship will be organised at Chalapathi Residential School campus at Lam in Guntur district from Monday to Wednesday, where 46 district teams will participate.

This is one of the two major events to be organised in Guntur district during the current academic year, while Under-14 Baseball event was organised at RVS School in Chilakaluripet, the second event was allocated to Chalapathi School, District Educational Officer Y. Chandra Mohan told reporters here on Saturday.

Some 650 players will arrive here as part of 23 boys' teams and 23 girls' teams along with 96 officials, said Kho-Kho Association secretary Koteswara Rao.

The school was sponsoring uniform of all the officials and Guntur district team in addition to providing lodging for them and laying four standard courts with red clay, Chalapathi Institutions chairman Y.V. Anjaneyulu said.
