Bangalore:
The former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President V. Krishna Rao passed away here on Friday night. He was 80.
He had been ailing for sometime. He leaves his wife, five sons and three daughters.
Mr. Rao hailed from Gauribidanur in Kolar district. He was elected to the Lok Sabha three times from Chickballapur from 1984 onwards and represented Gauribidanur in the Legislative Assembly between 1972 and 1978.
KPCC President M. Mallikarjun Kharge, Maharashtra Governor S.M. Krishna, Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh and several senior Congress leaders offered their condolences to Mr. Rao's family.
