Sonia, Natwar in same category: Advani

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party president L.K. Advani on Saturday accused "some political parties" in the country of doing politics with money from foreign countries. The `revelations' of the Volcker Committee were no ordinary corruption charges, he said.

Mahila morcha meet

Mr. Advani, who avoided any reference to the topic during his address at the `Matrushakti sammelan' organised by the Mahila Morcha, the women's wing of the BJP, told media persons later that the `disclosures' by Aniel Matherani, `confirmed' the charges of corruption levelled in the Volcker Committee report against former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and the Congress party.

"As far as the charges are concerned, the United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Natwar Singh are in the same category. We demand the resignation of both," he said.
