Pondicherry
Special Correspondent
Pondicherry : The Pondicherry Janata Dal (Secular) unit will observe a fast here on Monday on the Assembly premises to urge the administration to come out with a white paper on the total funds mobilised for relief and rehabilitation works in the tsunami-hit villages in Pondicherry and Karaikal regions. The party unit president E. Ganesan said here on Saturday that the World Bank had released loans for the works and a number of State Governments and voluntary and service organisations had contributed money. The administration should speed up construction of houses for the affected families. There should be speedy relief measures in the flood-hit areas in Pondicherry.
