Stany, Pavithra bag boys' and girls' titles

Mysore: Fifth seed G.A. Stany of Shimoga with six points from seven rounds and fourth seed Pavithra Jagatap of Bangalore with 4.5 points (progressive score 17.5), clinched the boys and girls title in the ``Sri LPG Cup'' Under-13 State chess championship for boys and girls conducted by Creative Chess School, Mysore here on Saturday.

Anil S. Shetty (Shimoga) took the second place in the boys section with 5.5 points.

In the girls section Shristi J. Shetty of Shimoga secured the second place with 4.5 points (progressive score of 15.5 pts).

The winner and runner-up in both the sections will represent Karnataka in the Nationals to be held in Howrah in January 2006.

1. G.A. Stany (Shimoga 6 pts.); 2. Anil S. Shetty (Shimoga 5.5 pts); 3. P.P. Prachura (Bangalore 5 pts PG score 21.5); 4. Kedar Vaze (Shimoga 5 pts PG core 19); 5. Sunil Shetty (Shimoga 5 pts PG score 16).

Girls:

1. Pavithra Jagatap (Bangalore 4.5 pts PG score 17.5); 2. Shristi J. Shetty (Shimoga 4.5pts PG score 15.5 pts); 3. Sneha V. Karekar (Belgaum 4 pts PG score 15.5); 4. Priyanka Sudhindra (Bangalore 4 pts PG score 15); 5. Neha N. Patkar (Shimoga 4 pts PG score 13.5 pts).
