D.A.V. school gets national trophy in song contest

CHENNAI:
A group of students from D.A.V. Higher Secondary School, Mogappair, recently won a national trophy in a group song competition held in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The group participated in the two qualifying rounds and entered the finals. A total of 47 troupes, from various parts of the country, took part in the competition, which was held on November 20- 21.
The school team, Anjali, sang the `Hojara Thayyar' song and clinched the title.
The group also sang songs in their regional language, which was applauded by the audience. Rithikka Rajendran, Arthi, Swetha, Anusika, Sruthi, Swethalatha, Anusha and Sneha were the students, who formed the Anjali group.
Ms. Rithikka Rajendran is the daughter of T.K. Rajendran, Additional Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai.
The contest was conducted by Bharat Vikas Parishad.
