MAKING PEACE: Dissident TRS MLAs arrive at the Assembly with their floor leader Vijayarama Rao (left).
HYDERABAD: A temporary truce till the end of the winter session of the Assembly was reached between the rebel and loyal MLAs after a stormy meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislature Party here on Saturday. It was resolved that the TRS president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, would respond to their set of eleven questions soon after conclusion of the session. A meeting of the rebels with Mr. Rao would be arranged for the purpose. The meeting, the first since the crisis in the party broke out two months ago, was marked by heated exchanges for over two hours. It was attended by 20 of the 26 MLAs of the party and presided by Union Minister of State for Rural Development, A. Narendra. Sources said the dissident MLAs were unyielding on the demand for an explanation from Mr. Rao to their questions. The issue of a whip by the party asking the MLAs not to attend the golden jubilee celebration of the Assembly was also strongly protested.
