HYDERABAD: When did the former President K. R. Narayanan cherish the happiest moment of his lifetime? Was it when he became the President? As a 15-year-old schoolboy, Narayanan wrote a poem in Malayalam and sent it for publication to Malayala Manorama. And the newspaper published it!! That gave him greater happiness than even becoming the President, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy said, quoting excerpts from an interview of Narayanan as President. Narayanan later turned a journalist. He worked for The Hindu and for Social Welfare Weekly, London, Dr. Reddy said while moving the motion in the Assembly condoling his death.
