Boy dies of malaria?

Fourth death in 15 days in tribal hamlets

NIZAMABAD: An eleven-year-old boy, Penugonda Ashok of Vaddegudem under Yellampet gram panchayat in Machareddy mandal reportedly died of malaria, on Saturday. He died while undergoing treatment at a private nursing home at Yellareddypet in Karimnagar districtand his body was shifted to the village. He was earlier treated at a medical camp organised by the district administration, but failed to recover.

It is said that Ashok is the fourth person to have died of malaria in the last 15 days in the tribal hamlets of Yellampet. A four year old boy, Malavath Narender of Gunti tanda had fallen prey to the disease on November 19 followed. The disease claimed Malavath Anguri (19) of Bodagutta tanda and Nunavath Vanitha (19) of Ankireddypally tanda last month.

Reports received here said those below 20 years of age were mainly affected by the disease and health camps conducted by the administration proved futile.
