NALGONDA: A police constable, M. Anjaneyulu, attached to the Suryapet town police station has been placed under suspension on the charge of attempting to outrage the modesty of a 19-year-old woman. According to highly place sources, Anjaneyulu (35), a married man with two children, had allegedly harassed the daughter of his house owner for about eight years. Even after her marriage, he continued in the same vein, they said. On the basis of the complaint filed by the girl, the police arrested him and sent him to judicial remand three days ago. Superintendent of Police M.M. Bhagwat, in a press release said that the constable was placed under suspension "following certain allegations against him." He warned police personnel of stringent action, if they gave trouble to citizens."
