MIM calls bandh

The MIM has appealed to Muslims to observe bandh on December 6 to protest against the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992. The Majlis will organise a public meeting at Mehdipatnam crossroad on Sunday evening, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner A.K. Mohanty has ordered closure of wine/toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants (excluding bars in star hotels) located in the twin cities from 6 a.m on December 6 to 6 a.m the next day, a press release said. - Staff Reporter

Environmental fair held

Students from 30 schools in the old city took part in the `Idea Fair' organised by the children's wing of COVA in association with Planet 3, an environmental NGO. The children exhibited models on the theme `trash to treasure' at Boystown High School on Saturday. Students of Scholars' Model High School bagged the first and second prizes and Farhat High School student prize. - Staff Reporter
