Commodity prices

The following were the rates (Rs. per kg) of essential commodities in local wholesale market on Saturday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce & Industry: Groundnut oil-50.50, Palmolein oil-39.75, Sunflower oil-49, Tamarind (flower variety)-21 to 27, Tamarind (karipuli variety)-42 to 48, Chillies (refrigerated)-25 to 30, Chillies (non-refrigerated)-10 to 15, Rice 2716-13, Rice super fine-15, Rice Sona Masuri 16 to 17, Samba-15 to 17, Black gram (Pottu Minappappu)-33.10 and Red gram (Kandipappu) desavali-21.50.

Over 1,000 attend campus recruitment

As many as 1,100 students from 20 colleges situated in and around Vijayawada have attended the campus recruitment drive conducted by Nipuna, a Satyam group company, on the Siddhartha Engineering College campus on Saturday. The interviews stretched till late evening and the results would be declared on Sunday, a college press release said.

Seminar on hardware technology held

Networks and e-projects manager at the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad, N. B. N. Ramesh on Saturday addressed a seminar on hardware technology for the benefit of students of B. Sc. Electronics and Computer Sciences at Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala. He said that the memory storage capacity of a 512 MB RAM being used nowadays could be increased to a large extent.
