Small manufacturers happy with response to EXCON-2005

Special Correspondent

Say the fair is a perfect platform for interaction with people within the industry

Bangalore: While the larger players in the construction equipment manufacturing industry hog the limelight at EXCON-2005 (exhibition of construction equipment) at Palace Grounds with their extravagant displays of loaders, mixers, dozers, conveyors, carriers and crushers, tucked away in the hangars towards the rear of the outdoor display area are the smaller manufacturers, those who manufacture components for most of the large players of the construction equipment industry.

These players are equally happy and enthusiastic with the kind of response the exhibition has generated.

"This is a great platform for interaction with customers and manufacturers. The fact that EXCON-2005 is almost double when compared to its previous edition proves the popularity that this trade fair is generating. It is the smaller players that will benefit the most from such fairs," said O. Surendran, Director, Wilson Engineering Industries that manufactures components for heavy earth moving equipment.

Says A. Radhakrishnan, Regional Manager of Bull Machines Pvt. Ltd., "The construction equipment industry is booming and can be valued at around $ 2 billion in India. The industry is expected to grow at around 40 per cent. This is the perfect platform to interact with people from varied spheres within the industry itself."
