THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 14 films, including `Perumazhakkaalam' directed by Kamal, would be screened at the competition section of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) which begins here on December 9. Films from Iran, Vietnam, Japan, China, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Brazil, and three Indian films (`Anthar Mahal' by Rituparna Ghosh, `Dreaming Laza' by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam and `Perumazhakkaalam') would vie for the top honours in the competition section. About 200 Asian, African, Latin American and European films would be screened at Kairali, Sree, Kala Bhavan, Sreekumar, Sree Visakh and Nisagandhi theatres. The main segments of the festival comprise competition section, world cinema, Indian cinema today, Malayalam cinema today, special packages and short films.
