New Madhya Pradesh Ministry installed

20 Cabinet, 10 Ministers of State in the new set-up


  • Babulal Gaur inducted as a Cabinet Minister
  • Uma loyalists dropped

    BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet formation exercise was completed on Sunday evening with the State Governor, Balram Jakhar administering the oath of office and secrecy to twenty Ministers in the Cabinet rank and ten Ministers of State at a special oath-taking ceremony held at Raj Bhawan in the State Capital. The portfolios are expected to be announced on Monday. The Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundhraraje Scindia was prominent among dignitaries present on the occasion.

    The former Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur has been inducted as a Cabinet Minister in the State Bhartiya Janata Party Government led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The other Cabinet Ministers are Raghavji, Himmat Kothari, Jayant Malaiya, Narendra Singh Tomar, Rampal Singh, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Gopal Bhargava, Narottam Mishra, Anup Mishra, Yashodhra Raje Scindia, Kusum Singh Mehdle, Chandra Bhan Singh, Ramakant Tiwari, Vijay Shah, Jagdish Dewra, Ajai Bishnoi, Rustam Singh, Kamal Patel and Antar Singh Arya.

    The new Ministers of State in the State BJP Government are Laxmikant Sharma, Prakash Sonkar, Tukojirao Pawar, Moti Kashyap, Paras Jain, Jugal Kishore Bagdi, Meena Singh, Nagendra Singh, Ganga Ram Patel and Narayan Singh Kushwaha.

    The Ministers in the previous Babulal Gaur Government, who have been dropped are Gauri Shankar Shejwar, Kailash Chawla, Dhal Singh Bisen, Archana Chitnis Om Prakash Dhurve (all ex-Cabinet Ministers), Karan Singh Verma Uma Shankar Gupta, Badrilal Yadav and Rajendra Shukla.

    Dr. Shejwar, Dhal Singh Bisen and Karan Singh Verma have been closely linked with the former Chief Minister Uma Bharti.
