Letters to the Editor
All speculations being aired in the media about me since my return to Delhi yesterday are incorrect. I have deliberately chosen not to speak to the media since my return to Delhi on the night of Saturday. This is due to the clandestine manner [in which] the India Today magazine has published my off-the-record conversation, totally out of context and completely distorted. Despite an assurance by the correspondent that the conversation would remain off the record, the magazine and the magazine's group channel have maliciously indulged in violation of privacy. I therefore decided not to speak to the media at this stage since formal investigations in the matter are under way. Meanwhile, I fully stand by the statement I made to NDTV News Channel on December 2, 2005, which was also published in The Hindu of Dec. 3, 2005. Aneil Mathrani, New Delhi
