Letters to the Editor
The anguish and concern expressed by millions at Amitabh Bachchan's hospitalisation, the extensive media coverage and prayer meetings throughout the country show the enormous adulation and following the superstar commands. But have not the media blown his ailment out of proportion? Although we all wish him a speedy recovery, we are surprised at the extensive coverage given to his hospitalisation by private television channels. Is this a ploy by the media to increase their TRP ratings? If yes, it amounts to showing disrespect to the star and invading his privacy. Looks like the superstar is paying a heavy price for his larger than life image. The media do not leave him alone even when he is ill. Suman Barthakur, Guwahati
