SBT launches special savings bank account

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has launched a `no frills' account called `Special Savings Bank Account' to provide savings bank facilities to the masses.
The account holders under this scheme will not be eligible for ATM cards, chequebooks and Internet banking facilities. There is no restriction for minimum balance for opening account. The scheme envisages extending banking facilities to all. Individuals can open this account individually or jointly. Accounts in the names of minors too are permitted.
