Trade union leader dead

HYDERABAD : Vellanki Subba Rao, 78, senior trade union leader, who earlier headed the Krishna district unit of the CPI, died in Vijayawada on Monday. He was in coma for the last 15 days following injuries sustained in an accident on November 19. Rao is survived by wife and two sons.

K. Narayana, CPI secretary, and S. Sudhakar Reddy, MP, in separate statements condoled the death of Rao. They described him as a committed worker who stood by principles till he died. The leaders conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
