IOC to launch premium petrol

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cochin Division of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is all set to launch its premium petrol - XTRA PREMIUM with `Friction Buster' shortly.

Indian oil in partnership with TOTAL, the fourth largest oil company in the world and the largest company in France, will bring a revolutionary additive - Friction Buster, to be doped with the branded petrol.

According to an official release here, the IOC will formally launch the new generation product at its petrol bunk on NH-47 at Aluva on December 15. XTRA PREMIUM with Friction Buster will be made available at 189 outlets spread across the State.

The new additive developed by TOTAL was introduced in Europe in August 2005 only. It took two years of research by over 60 engineers and technicians to formulate the new additive, the basic components of which include friction modifiers, dispersants, carrier fluids and corrosion inhibitors.
