235 secondary grade teachers to be appointed

ERODE: A total of 235 Secondary Grade teachers would be appointed soon in the district with consolidated pay, of whom 15 would be of Kannada teachers to be appointed in Thalawady, Collector D. Karthikeyan said on Tuesday.

At Kalaimagal Kalvi Nilayam Girls HSS, the Collector distributed prizes to winners in various competitions conducted in 2,136 schools in the district in connection with Children's Day.

On behalf of the Education Department, the Children's Day was celebrated from November 14 to 30 and various competitions held.

The Collector urged parents to send their wards regularly to schools and appealed to them not to support child labour. He stressed the importance of women education. The Chief Educational Officer P. Kuppusamy presided.
