Rain likely in south T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.) recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 centimetres.

The minimum temperature fell appreciably to markedly at one or two places over `Telangana and interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over rest interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over coastal Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at a few places over coastal Karnataka, at one or two places over Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Karnataka, rest Rayalaseema, rest north interior Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Ramagundam recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 15{+o}Celsius in the plains of the region.

Forecast (Valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
