Vishnu shocks Sharan

BANGALORE: Vishnu K. Jinnan shocked the fourth seed Sharan Patil 6-4, 6-3 and entered the boys' under-16 semifinals of the Mahila Seva Samaj-AITA Talent Series tennis championship here on Tuesday.

In another upset, K. Jagadeeshan defeated the seventh seed S. Kamal 6-1, 6-1.

In the girls' under-16 singles, top-seeded Sharmada Balu entered the last four with an easy 6-1, 6-1 win over Gurmeet Kaur. Sharmada also entered the semifinals of the girls' under-14 singles.
