Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer had a word of advice for students at the inaugural session of the State School Science Fair and other associated fairs at Meenchanda Government Vocational Higher Secondary School on Monday - to imbibe another kind of learning from the set pattern of textbook study. Mr. Basheer urged them to grow beyond the traditional concept of a bookworm and seek newer horizons. Undue dependence on teachers and parents had to be shed too. "Create a capability to stand on one's own feet so that your creativity is at its best, that can be projected in co-curricular activities," he told the young listeners. What the Minister was stressing on was the need for students to be a self-learner.
