It was a day set apart for man's best friend. The 15th and 16th All India All Breeds Championship Dog Show organised by the Malabar Canine Club (MCC) at St. Joseph's Junior School Grounds in Kozhikode on Sunday had featured about 30 breeds. From the tallest in the show, Great Dane, to the smallest, miniature pinscher, the dogs occupied every nook and corner of the ground. Since most of the dogs were either imported ones or their parents imported, they had a hard time bearing the scorching heat. One of the owners wrapped a dog with a wet cloth, while others were seen spraying water on their pets. A lot of dog lovers, including children, had come over to watch and, perhaps, take a tip or two on good pet rearing. The money from the show will be utilised for rabies eradication programme of the MCC.
