Meet on information security

Pondicherry: A three-day International Conference on Information Security 2005 organised by the Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC) beginning on Wednesday has attracted presentation of 200 research papers. A release from the Principal of the PEC T.G.Palanivelu, who is the chairman of organising committee of the conference, said here on Tuesday that the meet would concentrate on the contributions made by researchers in securing restricted and confidential information in communication networks.

He said that there was also a need to secure the physical assets of the network and they included the terminals, routes, switches, hubs and other peripherals. There was also need to properly assess and protect the clients and vendors and their information, financial information, database records, schematic drawings and copyright materials. These matters would be dealt with in the conference.
