JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has initiated the exercise to connect all village panchayats with computers as part of its e-governance campaign to benefit villagers by providing them with instant information on crop patterns, prices of farm produce and revenue records. The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Kalulal Gujjar, said here in a statement that nearly 1,000 village panchayats falling in the jurisdiction of 237 panchayat samitis across the State were being linked with the computer network in the first phase of the scheme.
