KOZHIKODE: Roller flour - millers in the State have complained they would be put out of business if the Government does not grant tax exemption for wheat and wheat-products. Their association said the Governments of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra had already granted tax exemption for wheat and wheat products in their respective States . Appealing to the State Government to take swift action on the association's demand, P.K. Ahammed, president - Kerala Roller Flour Millers Association, said this benefit was in keeping with the Central Government policy to give incentives for development of agriculture. Tax incentives had resulted in large quantities of wheat and wheat products flowing from these States into Kerala at very low rates, he said, resulting in adverse impact on business in the State.
