KOLLAM: Thirty cadets of the Naval Unit of National Cadet Corps, Kollam, set on a 12-day sailing expedition from Thevally to Kumarakom on Tuesday. The expedition was flagged off by Group Commander of the Kollam NCC Group V.M. Francis at 10.15 a.m. from Thevally. The group includes 10 girl cadets. There will be two whaler boats rigged with sails. The expedition through Ashtamudi Lake will reach Kumarakom at 6 p.m. on December 11 passing through Kovilthottam, Clapana, Thottapally, Karumadi, Muhamma and Thaneermukkam, and return to Thevally through the same route covering 350 km.
