WARM WELCOME: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy greets noted evangelist Roger Hosma at the Revival Festival that began in Thiruvalla on Tuesday.
PATHANAMTHITTA: The Revival Festival, organised by the Pentecostal Council of India in connection with the centenary celebrations of the Pentecostal movement in India, began at the Public Stadium in Thiruvalla on Tuesday. Indian Pentecostal Centenary Celebrations Committee chairman K.C. John inaugurated the celebrations at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Pentecostal Council of India national president Thomas Vadakkekuttu presided over the inaugural function. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy delivered the keynote address. Chairman of the U.S.-based World Outreach and evangelist Roger Hosma delivered the centenary message on the occasion. Kodaikanal civic body chief Kurian Abraham, Dr. K.V. Pillai, Rev. D. Mohan, evangelists, were honoured at the inaugural function. A 101-member choir led the prayer session as part of the inaugural ceremony. The centenary fete will conclude on December 11. A youth meet will be held on December 10 forenoon and a women's meet, later in the afternoon, according to the organisers.
