Guidelines for Indiramma Pathakam released

Priority for drinking water, electricity, houses to homeless and pucca roads

  • Priority to the blind among physically challenged

    Srikakulam: Giving details of guidelines for the survey of villages selected for execution of Indiramma Pathakam, district Collector A.Koteswara Rao on Tuesday said drinking water, electricity, toilet facility and houses to homeless and pucca roads were proposed to be provided to people in the selected villages which are proposed to be developed into models. Plans should be formulated keeping these things in mind, he said, pointing out that only three to four months was available for implementation of the first phase of Indiramma Pathakam which aims at covering 388 villages and one third of the rural population. The next phase would start in April next, he said, stressing the importance of speedy execution. The Collector was addressing a meeting of district officials on the implementation of Indiramma Pathakam.

    Survey team members

    Mr.Kotyeswara Rao said that survey team would have Panchayt Raj secretary, who would be the team leader and local teacher, anganwadi worker, mandal resource person, ANM and members of Velugu, self help groups and VSS groups as members. Antyodaya cards should be given to only poor people who were incapable of doing any work. Widows with children should be given priority while sanctioning widow pensions. While sanctioning pensions to the physically challenged, cent percent priority should be given to the blind. He warned officials of sever action if they deviated from the guidelines.

    Joint Collector M.Veerabrahmaiah said that the survey would be at three levels viz personal, general information survey and survey for housing programme. This would be monitored by the CEO at the district level and Mandal Development Officer at the mandal level, Mr.Veerabrahmaiah said. All officials including Revenue Divisional Officers of Srikakulam, Palakonda and Tekkali were present.
